We take a personalised approach to education

A curriculum tailored to every young person

At Aspris College South Wales, our students follow individual study programmes built around their interests, strengths and goals. Through our partnership with Coleg Gwent, students have access to more than 150 academic and vocational courses where they can study GCSEs and A Levels to practical, career-focused qualifications.

We also support key skills like literacy, numeracy, and independent living. Each programme is designed to build confidence and support progression. We help every student find their path whether that’s further study, employment or greater independence.

Work experience and employability are built into each study plan to support young people beyond college. Alongside learning, we help young people build the skills they need to take control of their futures.

Our curriculum

With small class sizes and high levels of bespoke support, every young person can access learning in a way that works for them.

Creating opportunities

Our curriculum is shaped by the seven core aims of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which guide us in creating opportunities for all young people to access quality education, feel safe, enjoy good health, be treated with respect and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Life Skills

We also embed life skills development into our curriculum so students can learn to live more independently. Here’s what’s included:
  • Employability skills
  • Budgeting and personal finances
  • Communication and organisational skills
  • Cooking and domestic skills
  • Travel training

Our therapy and support services

Therapy plays a vital role in supporting our student’s development. Every young person receives a personalised social skills profile, and we set clear and achievable goals.

We can offer a package of evidence-based therapies, including:

  • Speech and language therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Therapy referrals

These services help young people build awareness, improve communication and practise real-life social skills in a safe environment. By integrating therapy into education, we ensure every student gets the right support at the right time.
