How we enrich the curriculum

At Bridge House School, we know that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. That’s why we offer a wide range of enrichment activities designed to help young people build confidence, explore new interests and discover what makes them feel good—mentally, physically and emotionally.

We provide opportunities for our young people to try new things in a way that suits their learning style. If gentle encouragement is what it takes then we take small steps. We believe that developing skills and connecting with their community should feel meaningful and fun.

Activities beyond the classroom

Bridge House offers a wide range of enrichment activities, including:

  • Off-site visits
  • Wow days
  • Art, music and gardening
  • A range of sports
  • Horse therapy
  • Residential trips for Years 5/6 and 9
  • Vocational taster sessions
  • Careers fairs and enterprise activities

All trips are fully funded by the school.

Shining in our community

Connecting with our community is key to helping young people grow in confidence and purpose. That’s why we actively build strong links with local businesses, charities and organisations. We create real-world opportunities that help students gain experience, give back, and feel proud of their contribution.

Here’s how we connect:

  • Our young people participate in volunteering projects
  • Get involved in fundraising events for local charities
  • Visits to local attractions and businesses

These community links don’t just build practical skills—they help young people feel involved in the world around them.
