About us - Hurworth House School

Hurworth House School is an inclusive and specialist learning environment set in the heart of County Durham. We support children and young people with a range of complex needs, encouraging them to grow in confidence, unlock potential and thrive.

We combine personalised education with therapeutic support, helping every student take meaningful steps towards a brighter future.

Who we support

We work with young people aged 5 to 19 who have:

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
Trauma, anxiety and ADHD

Many of our young people have more than one diagnosis. That’s why we focus on the whole child. We shape bespoke education and therapy packages that work for individuals and account for their challenges and aspirations.

At Hurworth House School, everything we do is guided by our approach—Creatively Coaching Character. We use the 3C Cog Cycle as a practical, visual framework. Like cogs working together, creativity, coaching and character development all connect to help our young people grow.
