Careers, advice and guidance
We’re determined to help young people prepare for their future, not just with qualifications, but with the confidence, knowledge and real-world experience to take their next steps with purpose.
At Sedgemoor Manor School, we are committed to preparing our young people for life beyond education by providing comprehensive, personalised careers support. Career-related learning is embedded into the PSHE curriculum for every year group, ensuring that all students begin to develop an understanding of future pathways from an early stage.
Our careers support includes:
- In-school guidance from our careers lead
- Regular school assemblies that highlight progression routes and options available after school
- Employer encounters and engaging external speakers, designed to broaden their awareness of the world of work
- From Year 9, pupils receive targeted support from a Level 7 trained Independent Careers Advisor through small group sessions
- Students in Years 10–14 are offered 1:1 guidance to explore their interests and plan their next steps.
This multi-layered approach ensures that each young person is empowered to make informed decisions about their future.
