Life at Sheridan School for Parents & Carers

We know that when a child joins our school, their whole family is part of the journey. That’s why we keep communication open, expectations clear and support consistent so you always feel informed and involved.

Below, you’ll find practical information about day-to-day life at Sheridan School.

Our school day is structured to support focus, balance and wellbeing:

Monday to Friday: 8:45am - 3pm

These hours help young people manage their energy, build routine and still have time to rest or reflect at the end of the day.

We do have a school uniform but this is not compulsory. Young people are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that suits their needs and is practical enough to take part in all of our fun activities.

We’ve learned that this flexible approach helps reduce anxiety and allows them to express themselves while feeling safe and ready to learn.

Because of our personalised approach, we adjust opportunities based on individual’s interests and needs and we’re always open to new ideas.

• Fuelling our learning: We provide lunches, snacks and drinks each day.
• From A to B: Students are transported to school in a taxi.
• Lunch times: We provide school lunch or pupils can bring in their own.
• Communication: We want to work in partnership with you. You’ll receive regular updates about your child’s progress and wellbeing and we encourage you to talk to us whenever you need to check in.

I am delighted and proud to say that my child attends Sheridan School, as his wellbeing and education was being affected within a mainstream school. Whilst he has been attending Sheridan School, his confidence has grown and his ability to be resilient has shone through. The curriculum is tailored his needs and having one-to one support helps him work through the curriculum. My child has been supported throughout his time at Sheridan School with his education and with regulating his emotions. The support that the the school provides is invaluable not only for my son but for all the family.
