Parent and carer communication and engagement
At Sketchley School, we value strong, respectful partnerships with parents and carers. We believe that collaboration between home and school is essential to supporting the development, wellbeing, and success of every learner.
Communication Channels
We maintain open and consistent communication with families through:
- Email – for formal updates, queries, and correspondence
- Class Dojo – for day-to-day updates, messages, and sharing achievements
- Parents’ Evenings – held regularly to discuss progress, targets, and next steps
Events and involvement
We host regular events throughout the academic year that parents and carers are warmly invited to attend. These include:
- Celebration assemblies
- Curriculum showcases
- Seasonal events and performances
- Workshops and information sessions
These events provide opportunities for families to engage with the school community and celebrate their child’s achievements.
Progress reporting
Each registered student receives a termly report detailing their progress and attainment in the main subject areas taught. This report is shared with parents unless they have agreed otherwise. Reports include:
- Academic progress
- Personal development
- Attendance and engagement
- Next steps and targets
Respectful Partnership
We ask all parents and carers to communicate respectfully with staff and follow our agreed procedures for raising concerns or arranging meetings. Our Parent and Carer Code of Conduct outlines expectations for behaviour and supports a safe, inclusive school environment.
Together, we aim to create a positive, collaborative atmosphere where every child can thrive.
