National Autistic Society Autism Specialist Award
This internationally recognised accreditation is the UK’s only autism-specific quality assurance programme of support and development, for providing services to autistic people. Receiving this award proves that Aspris Woodview School is committed to understanding autism as well as setting the standard for autism practice.

Being recognised by the National Autistic Society evidences that Aspris Woodview School:
- Has increased expertise in supporting autistic people
- Lays a foundation for informing strategic planning

The UNICEF Gold: Rights Respecting Schools Award
Granted by UNICEF UK, this is the third stage of the Rights Respecting Schools accreditation, following the bronze and silver levels. By receiving this award, it shows that Woodview have children’s rights embedded through every aspect of school life, practice and ethos. Throughout the accreditation process, leaders and teachers provide evidence that they strengthen young people’s sense of belonging and voice, to create an environment for great learning.
What’s the importance of this accreditation?
Achieving the Gold: Rights Respecting Schools Award means that:
- Woodview has explicitly adopted a child rights approach based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and has embedded it in school practice, ethos and culture
- Children, young people and adults at the setting have an awareness and understanding of child rights, with rights respecting attitudes and language embedded across the school
- Inclusion and diversity are actively promoted and celebrated across the school
- Children see themselves as rights respecting global citizens and are advocates for social justice, fairness and children’s rights at home and abroad
- Leaders use the CRC as a driver for school improvement
afPE Quality Mark for Physical Education, School Sport & Physical Activity
This prestigious accreditation is awarded to schools for the strength and quality of their Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA). Receiving the award is evidence that Aspris Woodview School understands the benefits of high-quality physical education in supporting young people’s learning right across the curriculum.
What’s the importance of this accreditation?
Receiving the afPE Quality Mark shows that at Aspris Woodview School:
- They have rigour and sustainability in the planning, monitoring and continuous development of high quality PESSPA
- They have outstanding practice and innovation in PESSPA so that the school ‘stands out from the crowd’
- Their PESSPA programme has contributed to improvement right across the school
