How we enrich the curriculum

At Fromefield Manor School, we know that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. That’s why we offer a wide range of enrichment activities designed to help young people build confidence, explore new interests and discover what makes them feel good—mentally, physically and emotionally.

We provide opportunities for our young people to try new things in a way that suits their learning style. If gentle encouragement is what it takes then we take small steps. We believe that developing skills and connecting with their community should feel meaningful and fun.

Activities beyond the classroom

Here are just some of the extra activities our young people can get involved in:

  • Swimming sessions
  • Shopping in the community
  • Trips to local attractions
  • Bouldering/climbing wall sessions
  • Equine therapy
  • Looking after the school pets
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

Shining in our community

We provide ourselves on maintaining strong links with our community. This includes:

  • Regular attendance by the staff team at local family support group meetings
  • Engaging with the local town council on establishing ASD safe spaces in and around Frome
  • ASD awareness training for Police Community Support Officers

We also actively develop relationships with local businesses and service providers to create opportunities for our young people to be involved in a variety of activities. This includes working outdoors in the local park with town council rangers and having the opportunity to enjoy serving customers in a café.
