How we support your child's future

We’re determined to help young people prepare for their future, not just with qualifications, but with the confidence, knowledge and real-world experience to take their next steps with purpose.

It is essential that all young people, especially those Year 9 and above, have access to accurate, impartial and objective careers advice to inform choices about their future.

Careers programme

  • Work experience and placements tailored to individual needs
  • 1:1 meetings with an independent Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) provider
  • Age appropriate careers lessons
  • Support with applications to further education and apprenticeships
  • Visits from businesses across different industries
  • Independent travel training
  • Regular advice on pathways and routes to further education
  • Support from an in-house Careers Lead

Work experience and placements

As part of the school’s careers programme, Key Stage 4/5 pupils are offered the opportunity to take part in a work experience placement during the academic year, alongside their studies. This can vary from a weekly half day placement, full days or a short full time period over one or two weeks. For some young people, there is a chance to complete ongoing work experience placements across the year.
