We take a personalised approach to education

At Queenswood School, we offer a tailored, therapeutic curriculum designed to meet the individual learning needs of our young people. We combine academic learning with practical skills, emotional support and personal development—helping every pupil grow in confidence and discover their strengths.

We deliver what is known as the Q-ARC Curriculum (Queenswood ARC), which sees us deliver 3 disciplines based on Economy, Culture and Preparation for Adulthood. These translate into the following areas of learning:

  • STEM/Technical
  • L.I.F.E./Academic
  • Preparation for Adulthood/Vocational

In addition to this, we place a great focus on Independent Living Skills (ILS) as well as Core Competencies which are aimed to support pupils in achieving their goals.

Our therapy and support services

Our young people often have complex needs alongside their autism including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, attachment disorders and challenging behaviour. The therapeutic, wellbeing and interventions services team (TWIST) at Queenswood School develop a strong understanding of each young person and their specific needs, putting together a tailored plan of support and development.

The expertise, training and guidance of our specialist TWIST means that all our staff better understand each child and a holistic approach can be taken. This maximises the positive impact the school has on their learning and development.
