How we enrich the curriculum

At Aspris Telford School, we know that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. That is why we offer a wide range of enrichment activities designed to help young people build confidence, explore new interests and discover what makes them feel good—mentally, physically and emotionally.

We provide opportunities for our young people to try new things in a way that suits their learning style. If gentle encouragement is what it takes then we take small steps. We believe that developing skills and connecting with their community should feel meaningful and fun.

Activities beyond the classroom

Here are just some of the extra activities our young people can get involved in:

  • Horse riding, pony care and equine therapy
  • Coaching at a local amateur boxing club
  • Kickboxing lessons
  • Art lessons with a specialist teacher in a real art studio
  • Outdoor enrichment activities

From nature walks to team challenges, our setting in the beautiful Ironbridge Gorge means we are never short of space to explore!

Shining in our community

Connecting with our community is key to helping young people grow in confidence and purpose. That is why we actively build strong links with local businesses, charities and organisations. We create real-world opportunities that help students gain experience, give back, and feel proud of their contribution.

Here’s how we connect:

  • Work experience and volunteering opportunities with supportive local businesses
  • Outdoor activity partnerships with local providers

These community links don’t just build practical skills—they help young people feel involved in the world around them.
