Practical information for Parents and Carers

We know that when a child joins our school, their whole family is part of the journey. That is why we keep communication open, expectations clear and support consistent so you always feel informed and involved.

Below, you will find practical information about day-to-day life at Aspris Telford School.

Our school day is structured to support focus, balance and wellbeing:

Monday to Thursday: 8:55am – 2:55pm
Friday: 8:55am – 12:30pm

These hours help young people manage their energy, build routine and still have time to rest or reflect at the end of the day.

We don’t have a formal school uniform. Instead, young people are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing that suits their needs and is practical enough to take part in all of our fun activities.

We have learned that this flexible approach helps reduce anxiety and allows them to express themselves while feeling safe and ready to learn.

We provide lunches, snacks and drinks each day. Young people get to choose what goes on the weekly shopping list, helping them feel heard and involved.

To protect focus and wellbeing, mobile phones are handed in on arrival and returned at the end of the day.

It is important to us to work in partnership with families and professionals who support our students. Every morning we check-in with a phone call before your child arrives at school. Form Tutors and keyworkers give regular feedback in person at pick-up, on the phone or via email - whichever suits you best. Once a term you will be invited into school to review your child's progress and agree targets for their next steps. Brief reports are sent home in the Autumn and Spring terms with a full written provided in the Summer.
