We take a personalised approach to education

Our Curriculum Pathways

Key Stage 2 and Lower Key Stage 3 Education at Sketchley Hall

At our Sketchley Hall site, we support Key Stage 2 and Lower Key Stage 3 pupils and follow the Primary Education model, whereby all primary specialist and core subjects are taught by the same class teacher. We focus heavily on teaching life skills, personal development and personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education. Pupils also have access to a wide range of specialist therapeutic services, tailored to their individual needs.

Upper Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Education at Forest House

On completion of Year 9, students transition onto Forest House, where we follow the Secondary Education model. Pupils are taught core subjects of English, maths and science, as well as a range of specialist subject areas, taught by specialist teachers.

Depending on the young person’s interests, we can tailor education pathways to each individual. For example, academic learners may choose to move on to study further GCSE’s in a range of subject areas. And young people wishing to follow a more vocational pathway, post-16, may wish to attend one of the local colleges where they can choose from a range of A Levels.

Post-16 Education at Progression House

Our Post-16 provision, based at Progression House in Hinckley, prepares learners for life beyond school through a personalised curriculum that builds independence, confidence, and real-world skills.

What we offer:

  • Academic and Vocational Learning: English, Maths, PSHE, Employability, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award, with opportunities for ASDAN qualifications.
  • Pathways for Success: Three tailored pathways (F, O, X) ensure every learner receives the right level of challenge and support.
  • College Links: Learners on all pathways access accredited courses at local sixth forms and colleges.
  • Personal Development: Weekly sessions focus on health, wellbeing, relationships, and preparation for adulthood.
  • Communication Support: Speech and Language Therapy and digital skills training.
  • Careers Programme: Guest speakers, careers fairs, work-related learning, and high-quality work experience for all students.

Our goal is simple: to equip every learner with the skills, qualifications, and confidence to thrive in further education, employment, and adult life.
