How we support your child's future

How we support your child’s future

At Tadley Court School, careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) are a key part of preparing our pupils for adulthood. Our careers programme works alongside the wider curriculum to help young people develop the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills they need for life beyond school. We understand that every pupil is different. That is why our careers provision is tailored to individual needs, strengths, and aspirations, helping each young person explore future pathways in a way that is realistic, meaningful and ambitious.

A careers programme tailored to individual needs

Our careers programme is embedded across school life and reflects the varying ages, abilities and starting points of our pupils.

Classroom-based careers learning is delivered through the wider curriculum and helps pupils to develop self-awareness, independence, communication, and employability skills.

Practical employability experiences are provided through employer encounters, insight days, workplace visits and, where appropriate, work experience placements. These opportunities help pupils make links between school, the workplace and adult life.

What Tadley Court School offers

Through our careers programme, pupils have access to a range of opportunities, including:

  • careers learning from Year 7 to Year 14
  • visits to local further education colleges and other post-16 providers
  • opportunities to explore courses, training, and future pathways
  • visits to careers fairs and employer events
  • support from independent careers advice providers
  • work-related learning and work experience placements, where appropriate
  • mock interviews and support with applications
  • encounters with employers and workplace experiences
  • access to a dedicated careers lead

These experiences support pupils to understand their options and prepare for their next steps into further education, training, employment, or adult life.

Working in partnership with families

We know that families play an important role in preparing young people for the future. We work closely with parents and carers to keep you informed about your child’s progress, aspirations and next steps.

You may receive updates through:

  • regular reports home
  • family newsletters
  • contact from class teams
  • email and phone communication
  • an open-door approach with senior leaders and staff

By working together, we can help every young person move towards a positive and successful future.
