At Roehampton Gate School, we offer a tailored, therapeutic curriculum designed to meet the individual learning needs of our young people. We combine academic learning with practical skills, emotional support and personal development—helping every pupil grow in confidence and discover their strengths.

Our curriculum journeys are carefully planned and well-resourced. There is a high degree of personalisation, centred on individual academic starting points, interests and future aspirations and independence. The knowledge, visions and priorities of parents /carers and other professionals are captured regularly, and these are incorporated into the individual pupil’s journey.

Our curriculum

With small class sizes and high levels of individual support, every young person can access learning in a way that works for them.

Subjects we offer:

  • KS3 Core: English, Maths and Science
  • KS3 Breadth: IT, Art, Performing Arts, Humanities, PE and Spanish
  • KS3 Personal Development: Cooking Skills, PSHE/RSE, Social Communication, Preparation for Adulthood and Enrichment
  • KS4 Core: English, English Lit, Maths and Science
  • KS4 Breadth: IT, History, Art, Arts Award, Citizenship, BTEC Sport, and Spanish
  • KS4 Personal Development: Cooking Skills, PSHE/RSE, Social Communication, Preparation for Adulthood and Enrichment
  • KS5 Offer at Satellite site (Putney Vale): English, Maths, Art, Food & Cookery, IT, Sport, Health & Social Care and Personal Development

Key facilities at our school

Our school is purpose build and offers specialist rooms for:

  • Food Technology
  • Sensory Room
  • Therapy Suite

We also have a therapeutic intervention suite and several calming rooms, and our school is opposite Richmond Park and offers beautiful grounds including an all year round sports court and gardens.

Our therapy and support services

Every young person that attends our school has access to:

  • Speech and language therapist
  • Occupational therapist
  • Counsellors
  • Group interventions to support social and emotional communication and development

Our approach to education is holistic which means young people can access these services when they need them most, as well as during planned 1-1 sessions.

Academic performance 2025/26

92% of school leavers achieved at least one level 1 qualification (GCSE and equivalent). The remainder of year 11 students transitioned to Putney Vale, Post 16 campus to complete their KS4 qualifications

Of students sitting GCSEs:

  • 88% achieved at least 1 GCSE grades 4-9
  • 50% achieved 5+ GCSE grades 1-9
  • 50% got 5+ GCSE grades 4-9 including English and Maths
  • 50% got GCSE grades 4-9 in English, Maths and Science (Double)

In addition students completed level 1 and level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in English and Maths.

 

Out of 14 leavers 2025/26

10 Students went to College which is 71.43%

4 Students went to Post 16 which is 28.57%
