I have worked at Tor View School for the past four years, initially as a class teacher and now in my role as Deputy Head. I bring 16 years of teaching experience, with a particular passion for Literacy. Being part of the Tor View School team is something I am extremely proud of, and I genuinely enjoy coming to work each day.

I have worked at Tor View School since it reopened in 2018 and have successfully developed my career within the school, progressing from a Teaching Assistant to my current role as Assistant Head. I am passionate about working with our diverse range of pupils and take great pride in supporting their behavioural, communication, and sensory needs. I strongly believe in, and value, the ethos and principles of the school, which make Tor View School a truly amazing place to work.

I have been at Tor View for nearly five years, in education for over 25 years. I love working at Tor View supporting the pupil’s growth into adulthood. My role as SENCo involves overseeing EHCPs, provisions, the Therapy team and staff CPD/training.

Curriculum area: Maths Lead
I have been teaching for 25 years, predominantly in Primary Mainstream settings across all year groups, before joining Aspris in 2023. Prior to this, I worked as a Residential Social Worker and Instructor for a number of years within a large Autistic Society in the Northwest with roles including onsite and outreach support and working in Intensive Therapy Units within Day Services. With a maths lecturer as a father, I was bound to develop an interest in maths…the probability was high.

I have over 20 years’ experience in teaching and hold the SENDCo qualification. I have a real passion for teaching and enjoy making learning fun, engaging, and accessible for all students. I take particular pride in creating a fun, supportive environment where learners feel safe to take risks, develop confidence, and achieve their aspirations.

I am a newly qualified secondary science specialist who has a keen interest in ensuring equity occurs in education. My hobbies include animal watching, crocheting, video gaming, and spending time with my family. I enjoy having the opportunity to include my students in decisions surrounding their educational journey

I have been teaching for eight years, with much of my experience in mainstream education before finding Tor View School. I have a strong passion for project-based learning, preparation for adulthood, and supporting young people through meaningful community visits. What I value most about my role at Tor View School is the opportunity to support young people holistically, helping them grow and thrive in all aspects of their lives.
I qualified as a teacher in 2017 and worked in a mainstream school for several years. I particularly enjoy teaching science and history and taking our learning outside. I am passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their goals and be successful in their futures.

I began my journey in 2018 as a sports teaching assistant in a specialist school and a Youth Worker in my local area in Cornwall. I have been teaching for five years and have been fortunate enough to work at Tor View School for three years. I love my role here, having the opportunity to work with amazing pupils, building strong relationships and being able to support them into reaching their full potential as young adults. I am a keen sports enthusiast; I play for a local football team Lifton and support Manchester United. I enjoy spending time with the family, going for walks, surfing, playing video games, marvel and watching any sort of sport!

I have a strong commitment to supporting pupils in developing meaningful communication, confidence, and independence. I am passionate about creating engaging and inclusive learning opportunities that foster a love of learning, while equipping pupils with the essential skills they need for everyday life and adulthood.
I am dedicated to ensuring that all pupils can communicate in ways that work best for them, recognising and valuing each individual’s unique strengths and needs. I strongly believe that every child should feel happy, valued, and have a genuine sense of belonging within our school community. I'm an outdoor practitioner with a decade of experience delivering outdoor learning and adventure experiences for young people. I'm passionate about enriching students' educational journeys through meaningful outdoor and experiential learning experiences. I'm dedicated to facilitating opportunities for students that foster lifelong skills, encourage them to thrive, and support their wellbeing alongside their academic development.

I have worked in the outdoor industry for the past five years. I enjoy spending my free time outdoors, particularly climbing, which complements my professional interest in outdoor learning. The part of my role I enjoy most is supporting young people to challenge themselves, build resilience, and grow in confidence through outdoor experiences.

Curriculum area: Trauma Informed Practitioner
I have been teaching for 6 years and specialise in Creative Arts within a trauma-informed approach. I’m passionate about helping young people express themselves creatively and love giving students the space to make their own choices and bring their ideas to life. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing learners grow in confidence as they explore their imagination and develop their own unique creative voice.
Therapy
Anna
I have worked with SEN students since 2012. I specialise in supporting students with emotional regulation, using a quiet space for massage therapy and / or movement sessions.
After graduating with a BA, I qualified as a soft tissue therapist in 2014, and I use this to identify the source of muscular imbalances, tension and strains and I enjoy assisting students with their pre-prescribed Physiotherapy exercises in a fun and engaging way. I see the importance of using Intensive Interaction to help the students access this therapy gradually, on their terms using a warm and empowering approach.

I am an Occupational Therapist supporting children and young people to develop the skills they need to participate fully in school life. I work collaboratively with pupils, families, and staff to promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing
Charlotte
I am a qualified Speech and Language Therapist I support children to develop their communication skills, helping them to express themselves and understand others. I work closely with teaching teams and school staff to provide consistent, personalised communication support throughout the school day
Ruth
Carol
I am an experienced Play Therapist supporting children and young people within the school setting. I provide a safe therapeutic space where children can explore emotions, develop self regulation skills, and build confidence through play. I also provide creative supervision groups to support staff's emotional well-being.
Safeguarding
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns and works closely with the wider team to create a safe and nurturing environment. Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSL) plays a key role in supporting the safeguarding of all students and acts as an additional point of contact for any concerns.
